Winding Down

Wow!  It is December!  The year has certainly flown by and we are fast approaching the close of yet another year.

2015 has been a very full year for me, with lots of unexpected occurrences; highs and lows.  Yoga Chew Valley celebrated its first birthday, and subsequently, we have now moved into our own studio, My Yoga Space, in Chew Valley.  My Kind of Yoga Ambassador Teacher Training continues to grow with fully booked courses.

We spent a lovely week in France, running a yoga holiday at one of the best venues around.

In my Les Mills world, I had a trip to Stockholm and was involved with the the filming of BODYBALANCE 72.  I got to experience teaching at the largest fitness event in Portugal, sharing the stage with the lovely Portuguese BODYBALANCE and BODYVIVE 3.1 teams, as well as sharing My Kind of Yoga.

We made the decision to become an Independent Consultant with Arbonne, and through the support of a great coach, our business has grown tremendously and with a wonderful team, who are growing and supporting each other.

I had the wonderful opportunity to re-connect with dear friends, and make new ones.

On the flip side, we have been affected by immediate family members managing serious health issues.  This is made more challenging as they are not close by.  Supporting them emotionally from a distance is not ideal at all; yet, it is what is at the present time and we can only look ahead to manage the situations better.

So, here we are approaching the year’s end, and I find that I tend to get reflective at this time of the year.  And with having two business coaches in our lives now, I probably will spend more time looking back and appreciating how far we have come this past year, in order to map out 2016.  I do feel that it is important to be grateful for all that has been presented to us, good or bad, learn from those gifts, turn the page to close yet another chapter, and move forwards with a much stronger foundation.

Hence, we our intention in class this month will be closing down, winding down.  Forward-bending Poses can have a calming effect on the body and mind, and it can also symbolise closing in, closing down.  Spend time in the Poses.  Breath calmly, with a longer exhalation, and allow yourself to drop quietly into yourself.

Contemplate.  Reflect.

Be quiet.  Listen.

Turn the last page of this year.

Close the book.

Then, you will be ready for the amazing new year ahead.

If you would like to start 2016 with good intentions, come join me on a 2-hour Yoga class on New Year’s Day at our studio.  All proceeds will go to Yoga Gives Back.  I would love to see you.

Much love … Ann-See x

In a world that moving at a tremendous pace, some of us are striving to peel back the layers and be in the moment. I believe that we are here to share, to grow, to evolve and to leave the world a better place than that we were born into. Whilst we are busy being diverse human beings, we can still remain humans being, and more importantly, that we live our kind of lives.
