A week passes and the dust starts to settles, and we are left in the wake of the unknown. The nation is still torn and opinions, thoughts have been shared and debated. Whilst I am not going to delve into what is to be with the U.K. Moving forwards, I can but take the situation and reflect upon it.
Life goes on. Whatever life throws our way, we end up trailing in the wake of it. Birth, marriage, divorce, death. Decisions are made all the time and we have to deal with the consequences and move on.
What interests me is the process of reflection. We can debate, argue. When faced with hindsight, we should take the opportunity to reflect; not on what has happened but on how we got to where we are, the thought processes that led us to take the road we now find ourselves on. Could we, would we have made a different choice? You may disagree with me but to me it does not matter.
What matters is to understand our thought process and our emotional attachment to what influenced our decision.
And then, decide whether or not that serves our future decision making.
Because the clock keeps ticking and life keeps flowing at its own pace, and we will undoubtedly be faced with yet another crossroads and another choice has to be made.
What have we learnt from our previous decision-making processes, and could we change them? Would we want to?
I truly believe that for the human race to evolve for the better, we need to practice honest self-reflection. Yoga teaches us that.
How will you reflect on my suggestion?
Till next time …
